Hi all, I recently updated my 8600/G3 to Panther (a clean install w/ XPostFacto 3.0a14), with no initial problems and a nice speed increase. I ran all the packages which have accumulated on my G4 to bring it up to date, and halfway through the iTunes 4.1 update the machine froze and had to be restarted. I'm not sure if it is normal for a kernel panic to just freeze like that on unsupported machines, as on my G4 the grey curtain descends and the friendly message appears. Anyway, upon restart the ADB mouse no longer worked. The keyboard still works, other mice don't work, and mice attached to other keyboards or directly to the ADB port don't work. Luckily I have a USB card installed and a spare USB mouse, because I don't feel like sitting through the 12 or more hours involved in a clean install of the system and all my applications again, and otherwise the machine seems to be working fine. Does anyone have any idea of what might have happened, and what I might be able to do to fix it? Thanks James Allan
