Might also be driver-type compatibility problems in the software. Try changing the file format and see what happens.

The first picture I took was the best, then it went downhill so I did think about drivers and such. In fact the manual does say that you must install the Canon software. I had not done that. But after I did the results were no better. Then I read elsewhere in the manual that the Canon software is not necessary under OS X.


I was hoping it would turn out to be something I could fix, but it was definitely the camera. I was able to get a replacement and the new one works great.
