This is your solution
hi folks,
I have a beige g3 desktop server running on Jaguar.
Now I want to run Panther on it. I can't stick in a Graphics Card as all PCI slots are used. I tried some months before with no success but decided to give it a break as xpf was in early alpha status. I was able to run Panther on other unsupported machines so I know all the basic steps
I have this dam* Rage Pro Revision B board what causes Window Manager crashes.
I needed to pull out the Ati Driver bundle to run Jaguar stable like told here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25564
I read that with Panther there are similar Problems. How far has this been tracked down yet. Does pulling the ati driver bundle files out of the Panther system helps for that ?

I just get panther to boot on a rev c beige G3 to that point - what I guess - when the spinning wheel screen turns into a blue screen.
The screen becomes black and the boot process stops. Booting in Verbose mode is going until something like IPV6 started and Firewall started and becomes black.
I tried use old NDRVs and use patchedRagePro in additional. settings but all gave me the same result
booting in Single User mode worked but I have too less unix skills to run the apple gui from there
I get there messages:
cant't determine immediate dependencies for extension com.macsales.iokit.GossamerNDRVSupport
cant't determine dependencies for extension com.macsales.iokit.GossamerNDRVSupport
extension "com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport" cannot be found
couldnt't alloc class "OpenG3AIODisplay"
couldnt't alloc class "GossamerNDRVSupport"
maybe that's a hint
