The problem isn't the interface, it's the sound driver on OSX... it doesn't fully support the pre-G3 powermacs. It's a known problem and no fix is anticipated... I tried both XPostFacto and Sonnet, had a nice email exchange with one of the Sonnet techs, and just went with an external speaker with its own volume control.
