Dear List: Recently I tried installing OS X (OS 10.2) on a Power Mac 7600 using X PostFacto. After numerous attempts, I have had no success. The installation either crashes at certain points or if it does install OS X operates improperly.
The Power Mac 7600 has 256MB OWC RAM installed, a 1GB SCSI drive with OS 9.1 installed, and a Maxtor 160GB ATA drive (with the first 8GB partitioned) attached to a SGII Altra controller card. One person suggested that the ATA controller card might be the culprit. If so, what other options for an ATA controller card?
