604s are pretty slow for everyday GUI use, but for a server application they work adequately.

A G3 is what I'd say the minimum is, along with 256 megs memory (I'm talking bare minimum, you really want at least 512, I had 384 megs and it ran ok, but now that I have 640 (and even when I had 512) it was so much faster I was amazed), and a couple gigs of HD space.
