Hi y'all ;-)
since Panther (?) I have problems with the Finder and some server apps when dealing with a huge load of aliases. It happens from time to time that the Finder or another App what accesses the file system need an application restart to allocate aliases correctly again.
This is not an unsupported problem as this happens to my blue n white boxes as well as my beige G3 Panther server box. But I post this here as I know here are a bunch of X geeks :-D... Trashing caches helps not.
the affected server was well with Puma and Jaguar but I don't want to downgrade it after fighting so long with it to get post Puma cats on it...
