Hi There:
I thought maybe it was a quirk with 10.1.x but I see the same thing with 10.2.x (and I think 10.3).
I run my C500 as a headless - no monitor or video card - server. I use SSH and SFTP to do my maintenance.
Anyway, I thought I would try seeing if I could read in files from a CD. Normally, I.E. if someone first logs in the "normal" way (using the GUI) you see the CD mount on the desktop. It can then be reached via /Volumes/<CD-name> even if you are remotely connected. But this does not seem to happen if the Mac boots into the login screen and no-one logs in and you put in the CD, or , as in my case, you run a headless server.
Now, I understand that this COULD be a security "feature" but it just might be a shortcoming or oversight.
How does one mount a CD on a running computer with no-one logged in physically at that machine, yet you are logged into via SSH?
Cheers - Terry
