Peter,

So: Once again: If Tiger supposedly only works on Macs with in-built FireWire, what about antiques with FireWire added on a PCI card? Does that count as built-in? Or?

Tiger is only *supported* on New World Macs with built-in FireWire, which means the installer won't run on "unsupported" Macs without some help, from XPostFacto for example. It remains to be seen what kind of hardware compatibility issues may rear their ugly heads on G3 upgraded Old World Power Macs and/or the Beige G3's. I'd guess that most PCI Power Macs will soon be able to run it - but to what end and how practical that might be is another question.
