You misunderstand me, on several counts. [1] This isn't Panther's Quartz Extreme, which only accelerates window compositing & passes huge textures to and from the graphics card over the bus - which doesn't work well on PCI. QE doesn't support PCI for a good reason. [2] I know about PCI Extreme, and the plist hack. This one comes up regularly. [3] Quartz 2D Extreme offers exciting new possibilities but requires certain specific GPU chips which aren't available in PCI format. Ergo, it won't work over PCI, unless someone produces a PCI card with either a Radeon 9600 or a GeForce FX - or better. This seems unlikely. -- Liam Proven Home: http://welcome.to/liamsweb * Blog: http://lproven.livejournal.com AOL, Yahoo UK: liamproven * ICQ: 73187508 * MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[email protected]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> iPod Accessories for Less at 1-800-iPOD.COM Fast Delivery, Low Price, Good Deal www.1800ipod.com
