Not necessarily. It is possible for HFS+ to get sufficiently corrupted that
no matter how often you run Disk Repair (fsck_hfs) it will never come back
with a "clean" result.

         fsck_hfs is not able to fix some inconsistencies that it detects.

Supposedly Disk Warrior can be used to fix some file systems Apple's
own tools can't, but even that's not certain. So when I've gotten
to this point I've just reformatted and restored from backup. It's
not worth the risk that Apple's made changes to the file system
that Disk Warrior doesn't know about.

This is why I wish Apple would switch to UFS as the default, or at least
fix it so UFS looks functionally identical to HFS+ from apps, even if they
don't make the vnode layer changes that would let Spotlight work right on
it. Because I have never had a mountable UFS file system that fsck_ufs
wouldn't fix.
