I hope Apple is very careful about using any core with the Pentium 4 lineage. That core has had less performance improvement over the last two years than the 970 has, and while Apple makes it hard to really compare the power levels I would be really surprised if the P4 isn't hotter than the 970 as well. Netburst has been a netbust so far.
