3 circuitous ways I've gotten 10.4 installed on a 7500:

1) Install 7500's SCSI HD in B&W G3 w/SCSI card and install it there, then move the HD back to the 7500

2) Install 10.4 on a supported Mac. Make a disk image big enough to hold it. CCClone it to the disk image. Copy image file to a second SCSI HD in 7500 with your 10.2.8 already installed on it (you can clone your current install w/CCCloner). Boot from that drive, mount the 10.4 disk image and CCClone it to your first SCSI drive.

3) Similar to above, except clone 10.4 to an IDE drive and do the transfer to your SCSI drive in a Beige G3 as the Beige has both SCSI and IDE, and (older/inexpensive) IDE drives big enough to hold both a running 10.2.8 and a disk image of 10.4 are much easier to find than SCSI drives.

HTH!

Hi,
I'm new to the usupported OS X list, but I've been on the Vintage and PCI lists for awhile. Quick question about installing 10.3 on a 7500. The 7500 has a G4 400mhz upgrate, 512mb ram, 9gb HD. It's currently running 10.2.8 which I installed with some eMac cds I got from ebay and xpostfacto. I have 10.3 and 10.4 on DVD. Has anyone else installed on a xx00 with a DVD? Is there some way around going out and spending 80 bucks on a CD set of 10.3? Just curious.

Thanks
Thomas
