You could, with incredibly little effort, capture the start and end
times using PHP. A single line add to header and footer include files
would give you exactly that. Easy-peasy as they say.

If you did that, I'd suggest writing to a flat file, rather than
storing the result in a DB though. One less traffic interchange
[overhead that may skew the user experience result] to write it
locally.
