Actually, when I first took over years ago, several several people jumped
out of the crowd and offered to assist in the categories as I mentioned, but
we had problems getting them the access they needed to be able to mange, so
that idea died very quickly.

I know when Mac took over, several people talked to me and talked to him,
interested in assisting.  I think difficulty in use and restrictions in who
can assist on the website is what limits activity.

As for growing UPHPU, I think we need to look at our whole audience.  The
extreme beginner who has no clue what IRC or a mailing list is, to the
seasoned professional.  Posting articles and posting comments will help
bring new people to know that we even exist.

I think the key here, to rebuilding a thriving community, is to open the
infrastructure up more and allow more people to become personally involved.
 I think the way to do that is to shift over to wp.com and looking at some
of the ideas that Jonathan Duncan suggested with Google Apps, or maybe some
other service.
