Hi all, Sorry for the late notice about tomorrow's meeting. We had to change presenters on Monday and I've been trying to work out the details.
This month we're happy to have Bryan Petty (tierra in IRC) presenting. He's done some really cool things with automated testing and continuous integration that he will share with us. The details remain the same: 3rd Thursday of the month, 7pm @ C7's Bluffdale Data Center, with afterparty at Applebee's on 123rd for those interested. For a future meeting, we're trying to get together a Version Control System Showdown panel/debate, so we are seeking representatives to speak on behalf of their favorite VCS. If you think ____ is the bee's knees and can tell us a little bit about it and defend your opinion, we'd love to have your help. At a bare minimum, we'll have SVN and git represented, but I'd like to get some of the others covered too if we have anyone who uses Mercurial (hz), Bazaar (bzr), BitKeeper, TFS, CVS, RCS, or whatever other system you think we should all know about. It probably goes without saying that it will almost certainly be a lively conversation. If you have other topics you'd like to see at a future meeting, please let me know. We're working on an Apache Cassandra presentation, and perhaps soon we'll have a review of one or more client-side JS MVC/RIA frameworks or web dev --> native mobile app tools, or maybe more NoSQL/non-relational databases, or cache-manifest/HTML5 local storage stuff. If there's something you've used that you could tell us about, get in touch with me.
