i'll merge it for now, but only on the assumption that someone will
step up to fix the 64bit issues.  if not, i'm afraid it'll have to be
removed.

are these TODO items in your patch still relevant ?
- Fix the stapl makefile to delete stapl *.o files on "make clean".
- Correct warnings in the original STAPL player to compile UrJTAG
  without "--disable-werror".
