Thank you in last email for actually listing lists that might have people who 
respond to both usability and functional problems with system.  That was first 
helpful response I've
seen.

You need a clear domain of what this list covers - a FAQ.
Suggestions:
1. Making the gnome website actually report what this list is for.  A single 
line "This list is devoted to discussing and improving GNOME's usability" does 
not give sufficient
context.
2. Have a schedule of goals / directions
3. have some kind of failure management.   (eg: this UI concept fails : it does 
not work in the field by the people who attempt to use it)
4. Allow feedback.   But see #1 and #2 to help give people a clue on what 
qualifies as valid questions.
