I have the most appalling handwriting. Longtime companions cannot read it. Even I sometimes cannot read my own handwriting. Yet, once I'd gone through the training process, the Newton can transcribe it to text with considerable accuracy.
Perhaps the Newton was the first device to reverse garbage-in, garbage-out ....
