put (X repeat 5) after char 3 of "ABCDE" to yield "ABCXXXXXDE" You could always make a function like: put dupChar("X",5) after char 3 of yourArgument function dupChar tChar,dupValue repeat dupValue put tChar after temp end repeat return temp end dupChar But I bet you knew all this.
