These replies are kind of what I thought the case was. I'm going to put
this task on hold until Livecode 8 stable at which time I'd like to look
into Livecode Builder.

I do a variation on that. I put up a modeless window with all the options, one of which
is a button that calls "answer file". The reason it's modeless is because it
can cause issues if you call a modal from within a modal.
