His group has only 2 objects, and both are fully within the group rect. The group is locked and extends beyond its contents. The boundingrect is empty so I assume it's the same as the group rect. I don't think dynamic group behavior is in play here, or if it is, I'm at a loss as to why. I didn't play with boundingrect though.
