I suppose that's why coders just love traditional languages because it's takes 400 or so lines of Java to create a damn alias! The way to get programmers more productive is to get estimates, and set realistic goals. This way works for both managers and developers. Developers are then encouraged to use best of breed tools and research ways to get things done faster and smarter, and are compensated with more free time. Otherwise they can create a ton of spaghetti, and spend the next few weeks finding bugs in it.
