Interesting. The only way they could have done that is by diving the plane. The jet engines where tested at length after the war and the Me 262 never had the power to drag ratio to reach the speed of sound. The plane also did not have a proper elevator control for supersonic flight. This was also a problem with the first Russian Migs.

Now mention the Messerschmitt Me 163 rocket fighter and you are talking about the ride of the century.
