Shari, Although it isn't likely to an "apples-to-apples" comparison (since I am running a Sony Vaio Pent III 850 MHz), I had the EXACT problems you are describing and I found a solution.
My machine has a lot of trippy little hardware utilities that supposedly make life better. One in particular will show you where your pointer is if you hold down the control key. Another hides the pointer if you are typing. Also I had my touchpad turned on even though I was using a mouse. I turned all of the above off and all my problems went away. I now have NO CRASHES where I used to crash down to the metal every fifteen or twenty minutes. Life is good now. I'd seriously like to buy a license for Rev but am not likely to do so at this time, as it is so buggy. I get so many crash and burns. In the course of one day, it will easily just quit on me minimum 20 times (losing whatever work I'm in the process of, even though I save about every 5 minutes now because of the quits). And several times a day it freezes, hard freeze, requiring a hard restart of the computer. I've taken to copying every piece of code into a SimpleText file, every code change I make or build immediately gets cut and pasted even before I hit the APPLY button, as the APPLY button often bugs out and mangles the code. I know that when I buy a licence, I will not be able to get one that includes upgrades, at least not in the near future, and as upgrades are the only way to get the bug fixes, I will sit on this until the program is stable, or I may go back to using Metacard. I'm going to try using Metacard directly again, and see if I still get the crashes and quits. Very frustrating, especially since I like the program! -- --Shareware Games for the Mac-- http://www.gypsyware.com http://www.gypsygames.com
