I've had another look at the FileMaker web site and I can find the 10 users restriction mentioned only in the context of a) web served data and b) communication between multiple copies of FileMaker. I can't find any limitations mentioned specifically concerning ODBC. This is why I was interested in ODBC. Can you point me to a page that definitely states a 10 user limit for ODBC? (I downloaded FMs "comparison.pdf" and this doesn't mention a limit on ODBC). >On the xml front, one way round the restrictions might be to use a >Rev/Metacatrd server application as an intermediary between the >client and the database. I've thought of this in the context of other database backends. However, the problem would be dealing with multi-user contention. The Rev/MC application would need to handle multiple user requests and sequence them properly. This is half the job of a multi-user database, which I'd rather not have to replicate!
