Thanks Arjo,

Hope the vacation went well!

I had problems running the javascript as well then Juha told me that SP4 did
not include some java header files. He sent me a link and after
re-installing them, it seems to work fine.

I went ahead and bought a copy of Systheyes so if you had any advice about
the process, I'd love to hear it :) Suggestions/comments about tracking in
general, getting the proper scale, combining 3D geometry, really anything
you had to say.

The whole process is still a bit fuzzy for me. I bought a copy of a book,
"Matchmoving, the invisible art of camera tracking" which was a good read
and introduction to the process although it referred to and used Maya as the
3D application and MatchMover by RealViz for the tracking.

The footage I will typically be tracking is taken from a moving car through
the windshield. My first goes at tracking it have had mixed results so far.
I'm shooting in NTSC high definition (another story trying to get from the
HD video stream to something that will import into Syntheyes and RealSoft).

Really, any advice you had about the process would be welcome. I have a
couple of projects pressing me and working with new software and an
unfamiliar process doesn't make meeting deadlines any easier.

Thanks again for the email.

David

Hi David,

I did export javascript from SE to RS. But since one of the RS service
packs, I got errors trying to import the SE files. Juha did not have
that problem. At this moment it's working again. I'm not sure but I
think I deleted every RS entry in the registry and the .realsoft folder
in the users folder. I've just returned from holidays, I dropped some
dead wight from my head :)

Is there anything particular you wish to learn about SE and RS?

Arjo.
