Hi, I also 100% agree with Will and Boris on this one. Workflow and Multiple Subscribers are classic EE features. And moving the imaging to CE was very important too - prior to that you really needed OpenMind's excellent SimpleMedia module to make the CE Edition useable for editors. Now Magnolia CE is "complete" on its own ;-) (although SimpleMedia still has some very nice features!)
CE users have other (admittedly less elegant) options they can pursue to achieve load-balanced configurations if they want to invest the effort. But I would hasten to remind them that in my experience magnolia has excellent performance, meaning a single public node can already handle all but very high-traffic sites. And if your site is so well visited, or if high-availability is an important concern, then investing in the EE edition with its support options and SLA is probably a good idea anyway. Workflow and multiple subscribers really _are_ EE features. And we've talked about multi-site or multi-tenacy before. On the other hand image scaling (as an example) is a feature which is available in every tiny little crap CMS so making it available in CE was long overdue. So again: 100% pro your decision.
