Filename length for GlusterFS is <= 255 bytes or chars. Number of files in directory was not limited, but we have not checked that yet. We have four divided instances (2 author and 2 public instances) on separat machines. Each has its own temp directory. So sharing is not the problem. We also have only one subsciber defined.
