AFAIK, Play doesn't really work well with Servlet API out-of-the-box. It seems however there's work in progress for having war packaging [1] as well as a 3rd party plugin that already provides something along those lines as well [2]; the wrapping servlet seems particularly interesting - perhaps it'd be doable to register that servlet in Magnolia's config:/server/filter/servlets configuration and have it work that way ? I guess it depends what level of integration you need… but if the servlet work, it might be doable to have a Renderer that forwards the page/component requests to this servlet ?
