Thanks Natascha! I tried the first way of your suggestion but it seems not 
working for me. Here is my Magnolia configuration (Community Edition 4.5.4),

Site Configuration:

Themes: [img]http://www.flickr.com/photos/88260231@N02/8067368946/[/img]
Channels: [img]http://www.flickr.com/photos/88260231@N02/8067367208/[/img]
Resources: [img]http://www.flickr.com/photos/88260231@N02/8067368690/[/img]

When I try to test the mobile site on ipod, the cmosqa-mobile.js didn't get 
loaded onto it.

However if I pass the mgnlChannel=smartphone in the URL on ipod, I can see 
cmosqa-mobile.js works.

Does that mean there is some configuration in the device detection part or 
channels/variations that I'm missing?
