I just right-click on an item, select delete, the javascript prompt
appears confirming that I want to delete, I click on OK, the screen
refreshes and the node is still there. I tried restarting tomcat and
still the nodes are there. Any suggestions?

check jira for issues reported
Maybe it has something to do with 2.1.3 losing the session info when
you come from the adminCentral button of a page, or with the
subscriber information being wrong.
Check if the same behaviour can be reproduced on our online demo. If
it can't its a problem with your installation.
