The fckEdit control has three paste buttons in the toolbar. The first is the general paste button, the second is text paste (you'll see the T on the icon), and the third is MS Word paste (you'll see the W on the icon). Use the one with a 'T' on it for a strict text paste, stripping out all tag info that might be coming in from the source app. Also just to be absolutely sure the tag isn't already in the fckEdit control, hit the Source button briefly before the paste to be sure the fckEdit text box is really empty.
