Hi

How can one get rid of the first node in the URL.

After configuring the host in the server.xml file I can access the site
using author.xyz.com and www.xyz.com for the public instance. The
problem is that requesting www.xyz.com get redirected to
www.xyz.com/site1/home.html.

How can I remove site1 from the URL to have www.xyz.com/home.html ?

I've read every single article on the info pages and in the doc but it
won't help further as reference will always be made to apache and the
.conf file which simply does not exist in my setup with tomcat 5 and
magnolia 3.0.2 on windows server.

WebSite tree:

Site1
        Sub1
        Sub2
        Sub3
Site2
        Sub1
        Sub2

Server.xml for Site one:

<Host name="www.xyz.com" debug="0" appBase="public" unpackWARs="true"
autoDeploy="true" xmlValidation="false" xmlNamespaceAware="false">
<Logger className="org.apache.catalina.logger.FileLogger"
directory="logs"  prefix="localhost_log." suffix=".txt"
timestamp="true"/>
</Host>

<Context path="" docBase="${catalina.home}/public/ROOT" />

<Host name=" author.xyz.com" debug="0" appBase="author"
unpackWARs="true" autoDeploy="true" xmlValidation="false"
xmlNamespaceAware="false">
<Logger className="org.apache.catalina.logger.FileLogger"
directory="logs" prefix="author_log." suffix=".txt" timestamp="true"/>
</Host>

<Context path="" docBase="${catalina.home}/author/ROOT" />

I've also setup the UrlRewriteFilter class from
http://tuckey.org/urlrewrite/ but this won't work neither or at least
not on the public cached instance or not at all with magnolia.

I'm quite despaired as it seems to be something really basic but that is
not explained or document for the last version of magnolia.

Many thanks in advance for any help
Frank
