We have so far used one tree per language and will probably do the
same in the future. The great pro of this approach: You can enter all
data for one language, then simply duplicate the finished tree for
the other languages and replace the text content.
We also used this approach to do page specific language switches.
Each page was looking for pages with the same path but a different
language folder and if it finds it, enable the language navigation.
Because of Goolge + friends however we changed this and are using
language specific paths now. In order for the german page to find
it's french or whatever counterpart we're using codes (at this time
set manually in the page properties).
