since you have access to the Sitedesigner, you could simply check out
how it is done there.
Your templates need to generate RSS. EIther the html template has
embedded RSS generation, or better you use subtemplates and map the
rss extension to that template.
Have a look at the wiki as well, it has a lot of RSS pointers.
