If there are any "frequent" gotchas that are not already covered by the FAQ, everybody is welcome to contribute to the FAQ or Ant's wiki.
I think it is a bit over the top that when I, say, go to use the <copy> task for the first time, that I first consult all of the Manual, FAQ, *and* Wiki. All I am saying is that, anything relevant to the usage of a particular task, belongs in the Manual.
As it happens, the problem I found with <copy>, is in fact mentioned in the Manual, but as a note at the bottom of the page. This is a mistake, because the Manual pages are set out with usage info at the top, followed by examples. The "note" is usage info, and belongs at the top. I read the fine manual, but I missed the note at the bottom because I had already read the usage and an example or two, and I was done.
Are you aware of any undocumented ones?
I haven't found anything in either the Manual, FAQ, or Wiki regarding the <java> task will not list full details of Exceptions unless you use fork="yes" within the <java ...> task. That said, I haven't looked all that hard. I even asked the Ant Users List, and was told it was not possible.
Anyway, it was just an idea. Ant rocks. You are all doing a great job. Over and out.
Cheers,
Keith.
