Hello wonderful Cassandra community, ApacheCon 2020 is happening this year, but of course, as a remote event and not in-person. Just like last year, there will be a Cassandra track and you know why I'm here. We need talks!
The CFP closes in 5 days. Go here right now: https://acna2020.jamhosted.net/ I hope we can get a lot of submissions this year, because the burden of presenting is way lower. You won't have to travel, ask for time away from work, or stand in front of a large room. What a great opportunity. Topics that are hot right now? Use cases are always in style. "Here was my application and how I built it" These are the best way to pass information to our community and help newcomers. I get asked for these kinds of talks all the time. Cloud-native kind of talks. This is a hot hot hot topic. Containers, Kubernetes, Microservices, Service Mesh. My crew is in the middle of doing a cloud-native application workshop using Apache Cassandra and tomorrow we have over 10,000 sign-ups. It's a thing. If you have a topic, go fill out that CFP! BONUS TOPIC: 4.0 Beta will be shipping soon. We want to promote and educate our community on the new features and upgrading. If you submit a 4.0 related topic, I will ship you an Apache Cassandra shirt to wear proudly during your talk. One more time. Here is the link: https://acna2020.jamhosted.net/ If you need help with your abstract, you can email me or find me on the ASF slack. More than happy to help. Thanks for your support of our fast growing community, Patrick McFadin
