The problem is probably this dependency:

 <dependency>
      <groupId>org.apache.kafka</groupId>
      <artifactId>kafka_2.9.1</artifactId>
      <version>0.8.2.0</version>
   </dependency>


Since it pulls Scala 2.9. You can probably remove this dependency because
our kafka connector will also pull also that kafka dependency.
