I don't think the community has made any firm plans a Geode 2.0. If your primary concern is about potential breaking changes, I'd expect that you will be fine as long as you don't use already deprecated APIs. There are a lot of deprecations already. I know many community members are eager to finally remove those deprecated APIs. However, I think there are so many that I'd be surprised if that list grows significantly. This is just my guess though at predicting the future...
