Is it certain that the 1.7.0 -> 1.7.1 upgrade is the culprit?

It is never a satisfactory situation to have to rollback particularly
when the jars are stored in the repository. Is that actually necessary
to have the jars in the Gradle repository, is it not possible to use Ivy
to get the jars as needed so as to avoid having them in the Gradle
repository?
