More specifics about exactly what is broken would help a lot. It now seems to
indicate m4 is totally unusable, but from what I understand the major problems
are with dependency management and the rest works. I don't use dependency
management (yet) so I should be okay, but if I could evaluate the actual
problems with m4 (without having to go through the mailing list archives) I
would know whether I can stick with m4 or should revert to m3.
