Hello! It's not clear, whether the code snippet came from a client or a server. If it's a client, then I'd recommend you try sending the keys and additional data directly to a server node and perform the insertion directly on the node. The Compute API could be an option here [1]
You might also want to check the thread dump or JFR and check where the possible starvation is happening. It's also useful to check the resource utilization prior to adding additional nodes.
