As per http://jmeter.apache.org/usermanual/component_reference.html#HTTP%28S%29_Test_Script_Recorder JMeter only supports HTTP(S) recording. If SAP uses HTTP(S) and you can change the SAP client to use JMeter as a proxy, then it should work.
