I am afraid there's no transition path from Midgard 1.6 to Midgard2. Legacy API used in 1.6 is no longer supported. There's Ragnaroek LTS version which supports old API, but it'll be continued for next year, maybe. *Years* ago we introduced MidCOM, new (by that time) framework as Aegir&friends replacement. Now we work on integration with Symfony. Sorry to say this, but I have no idea how to make any migration from 1.6 and Aegir at this moment.
