Thanks, Eugene. I'll have to try it later when I'm back home again.

No problem, Eugene. I'm happy to provide all the detail. There's
just a lot of it. I didn't want to overwhelm everyone on the first
message.
In case it's helpful to know, this is being installed on Mac OS X
(10.5.6) and I have Sun JDK 1.5.0_16. The Eclipse version is 3.4.1.
I am using the normal distribution site ->
http://m2eclipse.sonatype.org/update/
It is been known that 0.9.6 release doesn't install on Eclipse 3.4.1
(due to issue with Zest dependency). To get around that you can use
the latest dev build from http://m2eclipse.sonatype.org/update-dev/
(it has other fixes since 0.9.6 you'd benefit from).
I had expected that the Eclipse installer would find dependencies and
install them, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Installer look for required dependencies, like WTP, Mylyn, AJDT and
Subclipse in the update sites registered in p2 update manager (only
the first two out of those are on the Ganymede update site). It may
work if you'll add corresponding update sites manually, though I would
recommend to unselect features you may not need, e.g. Subclipse
integration, Mylyn, AJDT and/or WTP integrations. The latter may be
already included into your Eclipse bundle, you haven't specified which
Eclipse 3.4.1 package you are using.
You can find more details about dependencies on the wiki page at
