You just need install HDFS through sudo apt-get install hadoop-hdfs-namenode hadoop-hdfs-secondarynamenode hadoop-hdfs-datanode hadoop-client And then continue to follow the mesosphere link step. Mesosphere link don't contain instructions to install HDFS.
