Uninstalled this and MySQL-bench, still no problem:

# ./configure
# make
# make install

I can send you my tarballs -- I did a makedist on another machine to
create them since
I don't have cvs and libtool on the e-smith installation. You can fetch
the cvs sources
on one box and copy them over the e-smith, but you'll need at least
libtool if you want
to do all the steps on the e-smith box.
