Hello all,
.. just wanted to know if there would be the interest in a
German-writing mailinglist / forum regarding Midgard.
The reason for my proposal is, that I think there are a lot of
German-speaking people on the Midgard-user-mailinglist and that there
are perhaps some people like me, who can speak and write English but who
would feel more comfortable with German.
It is not my intention to split the Midgard- community into English and
non-English speaking groups, but sometimes IMHO it is easier to aks and
describe in your mother language.
Perhaps it would be possible to build up a kind of dual system. People
who want to ask in German can do this on the German list and the people
there help them. If the problem is to difficult or special, someone
translates the question into English (the best would be if the person
who asked would do that) and the question will be forwarded to the
English writing list.
I think this would produce several advantages:
a) it would relieve the midgard-user mailinglist
b) it would create some kind of "regional community"
c) German speaking people perhaps don't feel so lost if they know that
there are other German speaking people who can help them with first
problems.
d) it would reduce the barrier for people who deal with Midgard for the
first time.
e) Hey, ZOPE has a whole German site including mailinglists.. :-)
To be honest, I never build up a mailinglist or managed one, but I would
be willing to try it if someone could support me somehow.
Would be nice if some people are interested in my proposal and give
feedback...
