Hey all,

does anyone know of a usable documentation tool? For me personally,
having to memorize the DocBook tag and having to run the validator is
proving to be a hurdle to actually get started. I know of psgml, I've
tried it, but I still find it awkward, and I'm not a emacs fan.

I would prefer something that saves in a non-binary format so it would
be easier to co-author using CVS. What I've tried so far:

AbiWord, which saves as XML, but there's too much functionality missing
(styles for one).

KWord, which looks OK but is self-admittedly pre-alpha work.

Wordperfect, but I doubt even our work would fall under 'personal use',
and it has a binary format.

StarOffice uses a binary document format.

OpenOffice is not ready for use by their own statement.

So what's left? It doesn't need to be WYSIWYG, WYSIWYM is actually
preferred, but the only thing that I would call resembling
user-friendly is LyX -- and I'd rather not go the LaTeX route.

Emile
